I am very excited to have the opportunity to travel with INGAGE again this summer! We will be visiting Kenya, continuing our goal to empower educators in extreme poverty.
We will work with teachers in Kibera, the largest urban slum in Africa and one of the largest slums in the world. We are partnered with the Bringing Miracles School, which provides education and meals to children in the community in pre-k to grade six. Bringing Miracles prides itself on academic excellence and preparing each student to provide for their family as well as continued community service.
Over the next several months, my INGAGE team and I will begin to create professional development workshops to help meet the academic and social/emotional needs expressed by the Kenyan teachers.
Would you consider making a donation to support this work? Each team member is responsible for raising funds to cover the expenses that this service trip entails. Because this is a volunteer service trip facilitated by the non-profit organization INGAGE Unlimited, all contributions are 501(c)3 tax deductible donations, and they can be made online at http://ingageunlimited.org/donate. Just select my name in the Peru Team.
I am very grateful to have this opportunity to share my passion for education abroad. I look forward to sharing the experiences from this trip. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions, comments, stories of similar experiences, or words of encouragement.
With gratitude,
Caitlin
